APIKO MCP

Image generation
in Claude Code.

Claude Code image generation through APIKO MCP: your agent finds a model,
quotes the cost, then runs image and video tasks.

Which agent are you using?
  1. Paste your key

Stays in this browser and only fills the prompt below.

  2. Copy and send to Claude Code

    Prompt

Set up APIKO so I can generate images and videos directly here.
    1. Add the MCP server: run `claude mcp add apiko --scope user -e APIKO_API_KEY=sk-... -- npx -y apiko-mcp`, using my APIKO API key in place of `sk-...`.
    2. Check the connection: run `claude mcp list` and confirm apiko is listed.
    3. Once it works, tell me I can get started.

Works in the Claude Code CLI and the desktop app, which picks up the user-scope server. Start a new session and ask your agent to look up a model; a reply means you are connected.

WITH APIKO MCP

What you can ask your agent to do.

Start with a specific request.
Copy an example to your agent, or adapt it to your own task.

Create a road trip hero image.
Describe the request, approve generation, and retrieve the image.

Generate images

Create product shots, page hero images, or creative illustrations.

Use APIKO to generate a valley road trip hero image with Nano Banana 2.1: a vintage sports coupe, overcast mountains, wet pavement, realistic film photography, restrained colors, and natural light. First check the model's inputs and estimate the cost. Wait for my approval before generating, then give me a link to the result.

Create a cinematic sailing short film.
Describe the shots, approve generation, and check the result.

Create short videos

Describe the shots and scene, and ask your agent to create a short film.

Use APIKO to create a cinematic sailing short film with Seedance 2.5: ivory sails, a gray-blue sea, soft overcast light, restrained colors, realistic film texture, and documentary sailing shots. First clarify the inputs and duration, and estimate the cost. Wait for my approval before submitting, then check the task until it finishes and give me the result.

Find a suitable model

Compare capabilities and input requirements for your task.

I want to turn a product photo into a short video. Use APIKO to find suitable models, compare their input requirements, output capabilities, and price tiers, and explain which options fit best. Do not generate anything yet.

How much would 10 images cost?

Confirm specifications, then explain the estimate and calculation.

Check the cost

Check prices and billing conditions before deciding to generate.

I want to generate 10 images with GPT Image 2. Use APIKO to estimate the cost. If the quote needs more input, tell me which specifications are missing and ask me for them; if the price can't be determined, say so instead of guessing. Do not generate anything yet.

Prepare assets and parameters

Clarify the required assets, parameters, and limits.

I want to turn ./product.jpg into a video. Upload the photo with APIKO, then look up suitable image-to-video models and their input requirements. Explain required fields, allowed values, limits, and which choices affect cost. Tell me what to provide first if anything is missing.

Through the connected APIKO MCP, look up the image and video models available to my key, their prices, and their input requirements. Answer from what the tools return rather than from memory. If APIKO isn't connected yet, first explain how to connect.

ABOUT APIKO MCP

Give your agent
tools to create.

APIKO MCP uses the Model Context Protocol to connect the agent you already use to APIKO's image and video models: find models, check parameters and prices, get quotes, generate, and follow tasks through.

Browse the model catalog
Check first

Compare models, input requirements and prices for the task. Lookups are free.

Then create

Submit once you confirm, then follow the task until the image or video is ready.

Clarify inputs

Read the model's input schema and price tiers to spot missing inputs and the conditions that change the cost.

Resume the original task

Keep the task ID and check its status. Do not submit again while it is still running.

Share reference images as public links, or let your agent upload a local file first. The server runs on your machine, so it can read file paths there.

BEFORE YOU START

Before you start,
what do you need?

Prepare your API key, task assets, and generation balance.
Confirm the requirements, then continue in your agent.

01

APIKO account

Sign up and create an API key, then paste it into the key field in the setup steps above; your agent keeps it in its MCP config.

02

Task and assets

Describe the task and prepare the reference files the model needs. Public links are easiest; your agent can upload a local image first.

03

Generation balance

Generation is billed to your APIKO account balance at API prices. Check the quote first, then top up if needed.

Understand the cost before generating.

The MCP itself is free. Model lookups, quotes, task checks, key spend checks and uploads cost nothing; only generation is billed, at API prices, and failed tasks are refunded. A quote comes back as estimated, needs more input, billed by usage, or unknown, and is never a guess.

View current model prices

The server starts through npx, so Node.js must be installed on the machine where your agent runs.

AGENT RESOURCES

Help your agent understand the tools
and what to do next.

Each tool describes its own inputs, so your agent can check suitability before querying models and give you a clear next step when a key or balance is missing.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Before you start,

Start with your question and find the next step.

Can Claude Code generate images on its own?

No. Claude reads images but doesn't create them, so Claude Code needs an image tool. With APIKO MCP added, it can call image models such as Nano Banana 2.1 and GPT Image 2, and video models such as Seedance 2.5.

What is APIKO MCP?

APIKO MCP uses the Model Context Protocol to bring APIKO's image and video models into the agent you already use. Ask in your conversation: the agent finds a model, quotes the price, and generates and returns the result once you confirm.

View capabilities and requirements
Which agents can connect?

Claude Code and Codex, each as the CLI or the desktop app. Both desktop apps read the same configuration as their CLI. Other MCP clients are not covered yet.

View setup steps
How do I get started?

Create an API key, pick your agent above, paste the key into the key field, then copy the setup prompt and send it to the agent. Then ask it to look up a model; a response means you are connected.

Get an API key
Is it safe to paste my API key?

The key is saved in your agent's MCP config on your own machine, and the server uses it to call the APIKO API. Treat it like a password. Use a dedicated key for MCP so you can limit or disable it without touching your other keys.

How do I cap spending or pause MCP?

Open the API keys page and set a spending limit on the key you gave MCP, or disable the key to pause it.

Open API keys
Can I query models and costs without generating?

Yes. Say "don't generate yet" and your agent will only look up models, input requirements and prices. Lookups are free.

View read-only query examples
What do I need for image-to-video?

Prepare the reference image as a public link, or let your agent upload the local file first. Then describe the shots, motion, duration and aspect ratio. Your agent checks required fields and allowed values against the selected model and tells you what is missing.

Should I resubmit a task that is still processing?

No. Have your agent check the original task with its task ID, waiting up to 45 seconds per check. Resubmitting creates another billable task.

Does this change my agent's language model?

No. This adds callable tools to your existing agent. Using APIKO language models in Claude Code or Codex is a separate setup.
